Hartford Federal Credit Union Expanding into Litchfield County
Hartford Federal Credit Union (HFCU) has received approval from the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) to expand its field of membership to include much of Litchfield County, along with several surrounding communities.
With this expansion, individuals who live, work, worship, or attend school in the Capitol, Lower Connecticut River Valley, or Northwest Hills Planning Regions are now eligible to become members. The charter also includes the towns of Bethlehem, Bristol, Plymouth, Thomaston, Union, Watertown, and Woodbury. Collectively, these communities represent much of Hartford, Tolland, Middlesex, and Litchfield Counties.
Beth Mazza, a Torrington resident and HFCU’s Executive Vice President who will become CEO on March 14, shared her enthusiasm for the expansion. “We’re excited to welcome new members from communities that already have strong ties to our branches,” Mazza said. “This expansion allows us to further support the financial well-being of individuals and families throughout the region.”
As a member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative, HFCU prioritizes service over shareholder profit. Members enjoy access to a full range of financial products and services, personalized one-on-one support, more than 30,000 surcharge-free ATMs, and 5,600 CO-OP Shared Branching locations nationwide.
