American Eagle Financial CU Supports Energy Assistance Programs
American Eagle Financial Credit Union, Connecticut’s largest community-focused credit union, is supporting energy assistance programs for low income households in Connecticut in several ways.
First, the East Hartford-based credit union has donated $4,000 from its charitable fund at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving to support Operation Fuel and Community Renewal Team at $2,000 each.
In addition, American Eagle encourages anyone to contribute to “Operation Fueled by Members,” a collection effort that benefits Operation Fuel. Donations are being accepted through January 31, at any of American Eagle’s 15 branches via the blue boxes located by the teller line. Tellers will also accept member donations as cash or account transfers.
“Home energy costs continue to be a burden to over 300,000 Connecticut residents. We are committed to help address this issue in the communities in which we live and work,” said Dean Marchessault, president and chief executive officer of American Eagle Financial Credit Union.
