Charter Oak Will Federal Credit Union Award $90,000 in College Scholarships
Charter Oak Federal Credit Union is now accepting scholarship applications for its annual $90,000 scholarship giveaway.
Applications can be completed electronically now through Monday, March 16th, and can be found online. This opportunity is only available for new and existing credit union members; membership is free for students. Visit any branch location or call 860.446.8085 to inquire about membership. Products such as the Bright Futures Savings Accounts are popular among college-bound students and offer competitive rates that will help students’ jumpstart their savings.
The credit union has been offering expanded scholarship opportunities to its members for six consecutive years via its $90,000 scholarship giveaway. The program has garnered the attention of students, administrators, and other members of the local community for its guarantee to award one $2,000 college scholarship to one college-bound senior at each high school within New London and Windham counties with an attendance of at least 100 students. Additional scholarships will be awarded to students already enrolled in college.
Through Charter Oak’s Community Giving Program, the credit union has made it a priority to give back to the communities it serves. Consequently, the credit union selects scholarship recipients based on their academic excellence and volunteer efforts. The credit union previously awarded 221 college scholarships totaling $442,000 over the past five years.
