Nutmeg Granted ‘Juntos Avanzamos’ Designation

Nutmeg State Financial Credit Union

Nutmeg State Financial Credit Union has been granted the “Juntos Avanzamos” designation from the Federation of Community Development Credit Unions. This designation marks their dedication to serving minority and emerging markets throughout the state.

Nutmeg State Financial Credit Union is only the second Credit Union in Connecticut with this designation. With the Spanish translation, “Together We Advance,” the Juntos Avanzamos designation provides Nutmeg with a nationally recognized branding in its mission to help key demographic markets who are often overlooked or ignored when it comes to finances. Their efforts focus mainly on Hispanic and immigrant communities looking to better establish their financial lives.

“Nutmeg is dedicated to the community. When it comes to banking, we want to help people help themselves and their families. The Juntos Avanzamos designation means we will work together to help these families and individuals advance their financial literacy and overall soundness,” says John Holt, President & CEO of Nutmeg State Financial Credit Union. “

Nutmeg State Financial Credit Union celebrated this designation at their Orange Branch location inside the town’s ShopRite. Attendees included the Federation of Community Development Credit Unions, The Credit Union League of Connecticut, Connecticut State Representative, Pam Staneski, Nutmeg’s Community Partners at Catholic Charities, Jacobeth Hernandez, Consul for Economic Affairs of the Consulate General of Mexico, and Orange ShopRite employees and shoppers. Music was broadcasted live from Bomba Radio during the ceremony’s reception.
