UBI Federal Credit Union Announces The Opening of UBI Student Financial Center at Plainville High School
UBI Federal Credit Union is proud to announce the opening of its newest branch location, the UBI Student Financial Center, to be located inside Plainville High School. This innovative branch underscores UBI’s commitment to financial education, community partnership, and empowering the next generation with real-world money management skills.
The UBI Student Financial Center will provide students with hands-on access to financial services in a supportive, educational environment. Designed specifically with students in mind, the center will offer age-appropriate banking services, financial literacy resources, and experiential learning opportunities that help students build confidence in managing their finances both now and in the future.
“This new Student Financial Center represents a meaningful investment in our community and in the financial well-being of Plainville’s students,” said Edward E. Bohnwagner, lll, President/CEO of UBI Federal Credit Union. “By bringing banking education directly into the school, we are helping students develop lifelong financial skills in a practical and engaging way.”
Through this partnership with Plainville High School, students will have opportunities to learn about budgeting, saving, credit, and responsible financial decision-making—all within a real credit union setting. The center will also serve as a learning lab, where students can see
firsthand how a financial institution operates while gaining valuable knowledge they can carry
into adulthood.
School officials echoed the enthusiasm for the collaboration, highlighting the importance of
preparing students for financial independence beyond the classroom.
The UBI Student Financial Center opened recently, with plans for ongoing educational
programming and student engagement throughout the school year.
